Haley Moore’s determination and accomplishment on and off the course have made the 22-year-old LPGA rookie a strong positive role model for young, aspiring golfers and the perfect ambassador for their brand according to Seattle based women’s golf apparel designer KINONA.
This April the company announced that it has chosen Hayley to be its brand ambassador.
Moore gained national attention last summer when the young Southern California based golfer opened up publicly about being bullied at school when she was a child.
To help raise awareness and work to end bullying Moore has created her own not for profit the Haley Moore Foundation.
“She’s grown a loyal following and has used her spotlight and growing platform for good,” KINONA explained when announcing Haley as it's brand ambassador this April.
A former collegiate golfer for the University of Arizona, Moore is perhaps best known for her championship winning five foot putt in the 2018 NCAA’s Women’s National Championship her junior year. The following year – at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (the first time women were invited to compete in a tournament at the famed course) – Moore finished seventh. She also tied for 11th at the LPGA’s Q-series to earn a spot on the LPGA Tour in 2020.
Moore’s first appearance at an LPGA event was in 2015 – while still an amateur – when she competed and tied for 67th place at the ANA Inspiration.
While Moore officially joined the LPGA tour in 2020 she is still technically considered a rookie due to the pandemic. Just a few months into this year's season Moore is still awaiting her breakout performance. Her first appearance this year was at the 2021 Gainbridge LPGA
tournament in late February - where she finished the first round tied for 98th, at four over par and missed the cut. She also competed at the Hugel-Air Premia LA Open in late April but also did not make it past the cut in that tournament either.
Adversity however is nothing new for Moore who time and again has risen above the challenges she has faced to achieve her childhood dream of one day competing in the LPGA and will no doubt continue to achieve and persevere.
“Haley’s grit, perseverance and dedication make her a strong positive role model for us all,” KINONA explained its announcement of her ambassadorship. “She truly embodies some of our brand’s core values: to persevere in the face of adversity and to practice kindness because it matters.”
Launched in 2017 by former Eddie Bauer product managers Dianne Jeffries Celuch and Tami Fujii, KINONA released its first collection in 2018 - offering women fresh, stylish clothing for both on and off the course.
While playing as part of an executive women’s golf league, Fujii and Celuch never really liked the golfing clothing that was out there and decided while on a golfing trip that they could design better women’s clothing for the course than anything then available.
As part of its brand ambassadorship with Haley Moore, KINONA will provide her with bottoms and dresses that she can wear both on and off the course according to a company spokesperson.
