KIM Fields Questions from the PRess Following Her Victory late Last Week

                                                                            __________________________________________________
Down the final stretch the scores were so close anyone at the top of the leader board could have won in that final round Hyo Jim Kim told reporters following her victory at the HSBC Women’s World Championship Saturday.
It wasn’t until the back nine that Kim said she begin to feel confident she could win the championship.
Finishing her final round at 17 under par Kim headed to the air conditioned player’s lounge to cool off and eat some pasta while awaiting the final results. It was there that Kim learned she had won her first LPGA victory since 2016.
Given how long it has been since she has won on tour, Kim said her victory in Singapore last week felt like a “dream.”
Last year Kim did not play on the LPGA Tour. Instead she opted to play on the KPGLA during the pandemic.
At the beginning of this year Kim said she set a goal for herself to win her first tournament since her last victory in 2016.
Now that she has won the HSBC Championship Kim said she might have to set a new goal for herself.

After two strong first and second rounds – where she remained tied for third at five and then nine under par – Kim bogied six times in the third round after missing a number of short putts and slipped to eighth on the leader board.
Going into the fourth round Kim said she focused more on her putting and was able to finish 17 under par to win the championship.
On the 14th hole Kim had a quick scare when Hannah Green made an eagle to tie Kim for the lead. However after eighteen Kim managed to beat Green by one stroke.
Kim’s win in Singapore is her fourth victory on the LPGA Tour since her rookie year in 2015.
